Hi! I’m Alexis, an Amateur Astronomer.

Alexis a little while ago, smiling and wearing his glaces with a short haircut.

Welcome to my blog, The Stargazer Rock. I fell in love with Astronomy and Astrophysics at a really young age. I’m just fascinated with space and the Universe.

WARNING

Never look at the sun directly. A telescope amplifies the rays that will blind you permanently.

To look at the sun, you must have a protective filter. If you try to look through that filter, you generally only see a very dark brown or black. This is what is used to look at eclipses and sunspots.

If you’re unsure, ask a professional before you use the filter. Or look at an image on your computer imaging system instead (CCD). You may destroy your equipment. That can be replaced. You’re personal eye pieces on the side of your nose, not so much.
